Four steps to your first play
These diagrams are explanatory illustrations. Android labels and screen layouts can vary by phone and version.
Get the Android APK
On your phone, open the official downloads page and choose Android.
In Files / My Files → Downloads, tap ObscuredMedia-Android.apk.
Open Android download ↗Android app installer
Allow this install source
If Android blocks the install, tap Settings on that prompt. Turn on Allow from this source for the browser or file manager you used, then return to the APK.
You can also look under Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps. Wording differs by device.
Install; choose how to handle the scan
Tap Install and wait up to 30 seconds. A Play Protect “App scan recommended” prompt can appear for apps installed outside Google Play.
If Android says the app is harmful or blocks it after a scan, stop and contact support with the exact message.
Before connecting: start the Windows server
The Android app can only find and connect to your library while the Windows network server is running. Keep it running while you use the app.
Start the server, then pair
When you see App installed, tap Open. Later, launch Obscured Media from your app drawer.
On the Windows PC, unlock the library and choose Network → Start Server. Wait for Running. With the phone and PC on the same local network, select the PC in Android and approve pairing on Windows.

Quick fixes
Start with the prompt or screen you can see.
The download tap does nothing
Check your browser Downloads list, try the official Android download link again, and make sure you chose the Android APK rather than the Quest APK.
“Not allowed to install” appears
Open the prompt’s Settings button and enable Allow from this source for the app that opened the APK. Then return to Downloads and tap the APK again.
Play Protect reports a harmful app
Stop the installation. Email support@obscured.media with the exact warning and the official download link you used.
The phone cannot find the PC
Unlock the library on Windows, check Network shows the server running, and put both devices on the same local network. Check Windows Firewall status in the app’s Network page.
